New Orleans, Louisiana: Thanks for a GREAT time!

I’m back in Vancouver after an amazing trip to Louisiana (New Orleans & Shreveport). I’ve wanted to see New Orleans for a long time, especially after reading about it in Anne Rice’s novel “Exit To Eden” (terrible movie but a decent book.)

I love New Orleans! Historic...& haunted? Hmmm:-)

I went to the notorious haunted house “The House Of Shock”, did a “Haunted New Orleans” walking tour, a swamp tour to see Gators, plus the historic Voo Doo museum, the Pharmacy Museum, The Katrina Hurricane exhibit, the WW2 museum and the oldest convent in the US. Meg & I also did a road trip to Shreveport.

Meg & I went to the WW2 museum. I highly recommend it.

My favorite travel pal Meggerz (http://meggerz.com/) joined me for some of the trip, as did Ceara Lynch (http://www.cearalynch.com/), Mina Thorne (http://www.minathorne.com/) & Lexi Sindel (http://femdomempire.com/videos/sets.php?id=1). I had the pleasure of meeting Angela Sommers (http://angelasommers.com/) as well. What a sweet person!

(No photo’s but I also got to meet the dynamic Christian XXX (http://clips4sale.com/65419) & the lovely Jacquelyn Velvets (http://www.velvetsfantasies.com/)

I also listened to great music, ate delicious food & had numerous interactions with charming & friendly locals. I loved walking around the French Quarter looking at the beautiful old buildings & learning about its fascinating history.

Lots of fantastic live music in New Orleans!

Lastly I’ll mention a memorable experience we had at the Sunday night market on Frenchman Street just on the edge of the French Quarter in New Orleans. We spotted a women with a typewriter & a sign saying “Smut While U Wait”. We learned that this very talented woman is Cameryn Moore (http://www.camerynmoore.com/)…her twitter blurb says: “Playwright/performer, sidewalk pornographer, educator, activist, comedian, sexy event-maker… oh, and a phone sex operator. See Phone Whore at EdFringe 2014!” https://twitter.com/camerynmoore

Here’s what she does at her little spot on Frenchman street…& what she did for each of us: she spends a few minutes interviewing you, asking questions about your sexual interests & other things, it kind of felt like going to confession or a therapist (in a good way)…then she sends you away for 20 minutes while she types up a smutty story custom just for you. She then gives you the option of having her read it out loud…in private or in front of your friends. Well, Ceara, Meg & I all took our turns listening to a very personal, custom sexy story written for each of us. Thrilling…and rather intimate, when you think about it. Certainly one of the most uniquely memorable experiences from this trip!

  1. If you think that was fun, plan a trip to Mardi Gras. Oh sweet soap on a rope. I didn’t believe the wild stories my friends told until I went on year. Been back every year since then, too!

    • Ya know, when I was in my 20’s going to Mardi Gras was high on my bucket list. I went to Carnival in Brazil when I was about 30. That put an end to my desire to go to Mardi Gras. As a petite female I actually find huge crowds of drunk strangers intimidating & feel like I can’t really let my guard down & let loose (always watching your drink to make sure you’re not drugged, ensuring you don’t lose your drunk friends in the crowd, fending off clumsy advances but drunk buffoons, etc.)
I’m 38 & actually enjoy less ‘crazy’ adventures. I even avoided Bourbon Street for the most part this trip.
To each their own! There are certainly many people who love that scene…it’s just not my thing anymore:-)

      • I can see your point. I agree, drunks ruin everything. I’ve never been to Carnival but I understand it’s like Mardi Gras on steroids. I’m 10 years older than you, and as much fun as it is, I feel my time is running down. The older I get, the less patience I have with people…..and drunks. 😀

  2. New Orleans is my favorite city in the US and I totally agree about NOT going during Mardi Gras. I’ve been and of course it is a load of fun but it is far too crowded and there are too many “amateurs” around — tourist frat boy types who are out there to get as wasted as possible and harass women. And ANY time of year it’s best to avoid Bourbon Street as much as possible. There are some good restaurants there and music but you’ll find far better music and less obnoxious drunken behavior on Frenchmen Street and other parts of the city – bonus points if you make it outside of the Quarter. The thing about New Orleans is there’s always some kind of reason for parades and celebrations so you’re not missing much if you never make it to Mardi Gras. And I can’t say enough about the food there — there are few things more fun (and delicious!) than a real New Orleans crawfish boil!

  3. Wow, that’s certainly one of the most unique / interesting things I’ve heard of. And that’s some talent right there. It’s not easy to do that. With the advent of smart phones, everybody sexts these days. So if you’ve done enough of that, one would know what kinda talent this lady requires haha.

PS: I’m writing in from India, first time I’m writing, it was nice to see you actually reply to your fans. Take care you. 🙂
